We have been seeing the changes it is taking place in the retail sector at this time of volatile market. Companies have been bought and sold like cucumber and nobody cares about the future and uncertainties. Big retail chains like Wal-Mart were looking to enter the Indian market to have a piece of pie in this big ever growing retail segment. But certain regulations have kept them in dark still to get a glimpse of sunlight. Many marketing research reports have been released on retail market which clearly shows the growth but it is hard to understand where it exists. Does this exist only in China, India and Brazil which are seen as a major hub for retail market? Or does it also exist in western countries which have been holding supremacy on retail market for past many decades. According to recently published blog on a retail marketing research site buying habits has been a main cause of augmentation in retail sector. FDI (foreign direct investment) have been largely flowing in China, India and Brazil at large in last 4-5 years which has resulted in increase in real estate prices. This appearance above the horizon in real estate has got the money in hand with middle income groups of these limited countries. And this has been a main cause of increase in spending power and flow of FDI’s. But is it the only reason for the debacle in the western world which is now showing up. Retail market in this part of the world has gone in dark with people moving cautiously with their spending. US have been suffering from economic recession since last 4 years which was looking to get off. But the way European countries have come with their economic structure Europe and US still need a strong economic reform to be placed to get out of this. But a largely asked question is – how long the retail market in the eastern world is maintained with abnormal rise in food prices and essential commodities. If fact is to be believed this seems to be a last stage to get in act for the entire world which might take them 20 - 30 years back if not tackled. Mother nature is on boil, less concentration in on agriculture and too much technology enhancement in every field will be a root cause of what can be a dark future. All countries of the world need to come on a better strategy and use marketing research to the best extent to make retail market survive as it should be.
